PK VESTA announces an order for a pre-engineered fruit storage facility measuring 56W x 76L x 8H (4 256 sq.m.) in Astana, Kazakhstan
After lengthy negotiations, a major local fruit supplier in the CIS countries has decided to place an order for a pre-engineered fruit storage hall measuring 56W x 76L x 8H with the Tula plant in order to establish its own distribution centers in Kazakhstan and neighboring countries. The prefabricated steel building consists of two corridor-type functional areas with an office section (floor load capacity of 1,200 kg/sq.m. under permanent formwork), warehouses, storage chambers, and a loading/unloading area. The racking system provides an internal height of 8 m. Technological load – 150 kg/m2 for suspended equipment inside each chamber.
The steel frame is designed according to EUROCODE standards using innovative Light Steel Framing system (cold-formed galvanized sections. HYBRID system – for two floors), despite the increased wind load (III) and an internal height (to the bottom of the load-bearing columns) of 8 m. An internal thermal envelope is used (all 150 mm sandwich panels are sheathed on the inside of the load-bearing columns and under the bottom chord of the trusses horizontally along the building) The trusses are covered with corrugated sheet metal.
The pre-engineered fruit storage facility was calculated and visualized using the free online system WebSteel.
