Design and construction of aircraft hangars

Aircraft hangars are being built to protect aircraft from vandalism, external influences and precipitation. This is not just a place to hide the aircraft, but a multifunctional complex, which is being inspected and repaired. Proper design of aircraft hangars makes it possible to adapt the structure as much as possible to the needs of the customer, provide appropriate storage and maintenance conditions for equipment, and increase its service life.

Today, reinforced concrete structures are practically not used for the construction of aircraft hangars. They were replaced by prefabricated hangars, which are practically not inferior in terms of strength characteristics, but are much cheaper and faster to build. It is also important that the steel buildings are mobile - such structures can be dismantled, moved to another place and reassembled, which is impossible for reinforced concrete structures.

On average, it takes 2-3 months to build a hangar from LSF, from design to commissioning. The design is carried out taking into account the requirements for buildings of this type, the wishes of the customer and the budget. Structural elements are manufactured at the factory according to the project, after which they are delivered to the facility where they are erected.

The materials from which prefabricated hangars are built are not combustible. But, given the specifics of the operation of the building, it is necessary to provide for powerful and efficient ventilation, which will not allow fuel vapors to accumulate inside and increase the risk of fire.

It is also important to control indoor humidity and temperature to ensure the long life of the equipment. Given the large dimensions of the structure, wind and snow loads should be taken into account when calculating the strength.
