PK VESTA announces an order for a pre-engineered ice arena 30W x 80L x 6H made out of LSF in Tashkent, Uzbekistan
One of the representatives of a multi-profile holding company, which has been working in the retail trade of Uzbekistan and the CIS countries for many years, decided to open a new direction - the construction and leasing of ice arenas, which are in great demand in the country. After a long market analysis and negotiations, PK VESTA was chosen due to its extensive experience in designing cold-formed pre-engineered steel buildings with a 30m span.
The uniqueness of this export project lies in the maximum use of innovative Light Steel Framing (cold-formed profiles) technology at the request of the client in zone No. 2 (ice arena: 30W x 55L) with a 30m span without internal columns and an inner height of 6m. Most importantly, the jobsite has the seismicity of 8 points and the wind loads are up to 60 kg/sq.m. in Tashkent. Similar steel buildings in the CIS countries, as a rule, are designed on the basis of red-iron metal, which requires additional anti-corrosion protection, is more expensive than LSF system and increases the cost of the foundation due to the higher loads.
In the calculations of steel structures, rare high-strength steel grades are used - up to S420 with a metal thickness of up to 3.5 mm based on C-shaped and W-shaped profiles. All connectors at the plant undergo mechanized cleaning with subsequent application of premium powder coating (2 layers and 100 microns)
The planning solutions take into account 2 main two-story zones for an office and similar premises. The ice arena (Zone No. 2) is completely cut off from the two-story parts based on two separate load-bearing frames, excluding any cold bridges. Internal partitions are provided from the finished floor level to the roof in the form of vertical fire-proof sandwich panels. The building kit includes reinforced structures for all framed openings (gates, doors and windows)
The steel building is designed entirely on the basis of 100% bolted connections and does not provide for any welding work. The steel frame is a full-fledged LEGO constructor, which significantly distinguishes this unique project from local structures mainly based on red-iron metal in Uzbekistan.
The cold-formed pre-engineered ice arena was calculated and visualized by the client free of charge in the innovative web service WebSteel.
The similar projects can be designed and delivered by PK Vesta to any part of the world (Eurasia, the Middle East, Africa and Latin America)
